Hotels and eco-lodges: Discover your accommodation
Hotels and eco-lodges: Discover your accommodation
Accommodation is an essential part of the Madagascar Nomads experience. Throughout your road trip, you’ll alternate between charming properties and exceptional lodges set amid spectacular natural surroundings. From the warm colonial atmosphere of the highlands to bungalows opening onto the lagoon or tropical forest, every stop reveals a new side of the Big Island.
The good news is that Malagasy hospitality and comfort are always part of the experience. Your lodges offer special places to unwind, renowned restaurants showcasing local produce (flavorful zebu, vanilla, and incredibly fresh fish and seafood), and often a pool where you can switch off after a day on the road or hiking.
Some stops are worth the trip in themselves. In the Tsaranoro Valley, your camp sits beneath immense granite cliffs, offering an authentic escape beneath pristine starry skies. At the gateway to Isalo, your lodge blends into sandstone canyons that feel like the end of the world. Finally, in Ifaty, you’ll fall asleep to the sound of waves rolling in from the Mozambique Channel, with your feet almost in the water.
